Lara Stone + Daria Werbowy naked

So Apple has a "no nipples" policy (via Shiny Shiny http://bit.ly/cmlk3p). Which is a shame when it comes to magazine apps, as it means they can't feature beautiful stunning images like these (via The Daria Files http://bit.ly/auaQ7), taken from a shoot for Industrie Magazine, photographed by Patrick Demarchelier and featuring Lara Stone and Daria Werbowy, the two biggest supers in the world right now. Naked. Nipples galore.

In which I reach the end of my sunglasses search

Firstly, a big thank you to Misslikey for the shout-out on her blog. The feeling is mutual, of course. In fact, check out her latest post, which has some super duper street style pics.
Next, I wanted to post an update about my sunglasses search, since quite a few of my friends have been helping out: Anatole suggested I try Persol, which is maybe my favourite glasses brand, but actually the frames I looked at there weren't quite round enough. Roz mentioned how the Oliver Peoples O'Malley style I'm after, but can't get hold of, is similar to the Riley frames, also by OP. Kari Alder, the Los Angeles-based Oliver Peoples PR has also been really helpful, even going to the trouble of talking to Garrett Leight, son of OP founder Larry Leight. She had this to say: "[Garrett] has recently opened his own boutique and his inventory currently includes a small number of original O'Malley frames... he will ship internationally." This is his website: http://www.akinneycourt.com/ .
Finally, yesterday I flipped open the April issue of British Vogue (worth buying for the Lara Stone shoot. And why isn't she on the cover?), and they show a pair of sunglasses I had totally forgotten about by Cutler & Gross. They are the perfect shape, and tortoiseshell (Sienna Miller wore a beige pair to the premiere of The September Issue in NYC last year). So there you go! SS10 ad campaign round-up

Marc by Marc Jacobs

The SS10 advertising campaigns are starting to appear. Time to start dissecting! So far, Raquel Zimmerman for Chloe is my favourite: all '70s-inspired androgyny and tailored khaki. Has anyone else noticed the similarity Celine, designed by Phoebe Philo, erstwhile Chloe designer? The models head is cut off for the ad, as it is in the Jimmy Choo campaign, which is reminiscent of a cool, streetstyle blog. Marc by Marc Jacobs is also going for the hipster girl, featuring Hannah Holman (who was one of the faces of Miu Miu last season). Chanel is out on its own, conceptually, as usual, and has used Freja Beha Erichsen again in a Spanish toreador fantasy. Gucci has also recycled its model, in the form of Natasha Poly. Anja Rubik is fresh-faced for Fendi.YSL continues its high concept approach, this season using Natalia Vodianova as muse. Dior has Karlie Kloss to channel Lauren Bacall, and Louis Vuitton gets a tousled Lara Stone to play Brigitte Bardot. In the celebrity corner, Georgia Jagger pouts for Versace, and Madonna plays a Sicilian housewife for Dolce & Gabbana. Overall, though, it seems like there's a return to using current models, as opposed to latter-day supes (except for Claudia Schiffer, who reprises her job as the face of Salvatore Ferragamo, and Christy Turlington for Bally) or celebs.

A fresh face for 2010

Kasia Struss, the Polish model, is my hunch for a favourite new face for 2010. As well as featuring on the December cover of Vogue Italia, alongside Christy Turlington, Gisele and Lara Stone, and nabbing a few campaigns like Chloe AW09, she suits the new mood of restraint in fashion (see previous post). Here's a piccie of her I found on models.com, taken by Craig McDean in the most recent issue of Interview.
