In which I hear back about the Oliver Peoples sunglasses

The kindly PR from Oliver Peoples got back to me yesterday following my query about the O'Malley sunglasses I saw featured in Interview magazine. It's not good news, people (Peoples. ha!). This is the gist of it, and I quote from her email:

"In the late 80s and early 90s, the O’Malley optical frame was originally available in 3 sizes: 41, 43 and 45. The two smaller sizes were available with a sun clip and we stopped producing them by 2000. The larger size was still available until a couple of years ago. What has happened now is that Larry Leight (our co-founder and designer) has a small ‘treasure trove’ of original OP frames, a small quantity of which are the two smaller O’Malley sizes. They will be made available to select VIP accounts (yet to be determined) for retail. However, I don’t believe they will include a sun clip or will be available on the website."

Boo shucks. Although she very sweetly offered to find out if any of these elusive frames will be making their way to the UK. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, does anyone know any other sunglasses brands that stock this shape?
